THIRD TIME WINNER! CRA Shines Again at the 2026 Internal Audit and Risk Awards
For the third consecutive year, the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) has stood out as a powerhouse of excellence at the Internal Audit and Risk Awards, organized by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Kenya. Since the inception of these awards, the Internal Audit Function has not only participated consistently but has repeatedly distinguished itself as a true centre of audit excellence—emerging as Winner in the Internal Audit Function under Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices category.
In the 2026 ceremony, the Commission competed under the Internal Audit Functions and Audit Committees for Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices category, and once again delivered a stellar performance.
Understanding the Awards Ceremony
The Internal Audit and Risk Awards is a premier event for internal audit and risk professionals, recognizing institutions and individuals that have achieved high standards in Internal Audit Governance. The awards also recognize innovations in the adoption of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), by individuals and high-performing audit teams. It further presents an opportunity for participants to understand the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) that became effective in January 2025, and role of the standards in strengthening Internal Audit Governance.
A Night to Remember: The 2026 Gala Dinner
This year’s awards gala dinner was held on 10th April, 2026 at the luxurious Emara Ole Sereni Hotel, on the outskirts of Nairobi — a fitting venue for a celebration of this stature. With a theme of “Audit and Risk Excellence: Elevating Standards,” the evening drew influential internal audit and risk professionals from across the public and private sectors.
Dressed in elegant hues of blue and black, guests gathered to shine a spotlight on a profession not often celebrated.
As the Chief Guest, Prof. Nura Mohamed, Director General of the Kenya School of Government, humorously noted:
“Auditors are never celebrated in our organizations — today is not a day for follow-ups, bring-ups or clarifications, but a day to celebrate and unwind.”
His words resonated widely, setting the tone for an evening filled with good food, laughter, music, and meaningful reflection.
