CPA Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati is a highly accomplished Certified Public Accountant, Certified Professional Mediator (CPM) and Financial Analyst with over 37 years of distinguished service in the public sector at both national and sub-county levels. She has extensive expertise in government operations, public financial management and the implementation and monitoring of accounting standards and systems, as well as the effective administration of accounting units.
Prior to her appointment as Chairperson of the Commission on Revenue Allocation, she served as a Senior Deputy Accountant General at the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning. Over the course of her career, she has held several senior leadership positions, including Head of Department roles across various government ministries, where she contributed significantly to strengthening financial management systems and institutional performance.
CPA Wanyonyi Chebukati has also provided strategic leadership through her service on the boards of Kenyatta National Hospital, Maasai Mara University, and the Cooperative University of Kenya. In addition, she served as Chairperson of the Kenya Ladies Golf Union, demonstrating her commitment to leadership and excellence in diverse sectors.
She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA), and the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK). She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting).
